Feature Summary

The King Rich B Series delivers a step up in mass, rigidity, and capability over conventional knee-type vertical mills. Three models cover a practical range of table sizes, from the KR-B2V through to the long-table KR-B4V, with each machine sharing the same core engineering philosophy.

Structure and Rigidity
The reinforced high-rigidity milling head provides maximum cutting stability. American red Turcite is applied to the X and Y axes for wear resistance and long-term accuracy. Dovetail slideways are used on the X axis, and square slideways are used on the Y and Z axes. All axes and the table are hardened and ground. The fixed-bed design eliminates the knee column of a conventional turret mill, providing a more rigid and stable platform for heavier cuts.

Feed System
Frequency inverter control is fitted to both the longitudinal and cross feeds as standard, providing smooth and stepless feed rate control across the full range. Precision ground ballscrews are fitted to the X and Y axes, delivering accurate positioning with minimal backlash. A clutch is also fitted to the transmission shaft for overload protection.

Spindle and Head
All three models use an ISO40 spindle taper, giving broad tooling compatibility. The variable speed drive head provides stepless spindle speed adjustment. The spindle operates across two speed ranges, covering low-speed heavy cutting through to high-speed finishing operations.

Z Axis and Positioning
A 1HP AC rapid vertical motor with brake is fitted as standard, enabling fast powered Z-axis positioning between operations. The integrated brake holds the head securely in position during cutting.

Maintenance and Reliability
Auto lubrication and a coolant pump are standard across the range, keeping guideways protected and cutting temperatures managed during production use. King Rich manufactures its spindles in-house, with spare parts controlled and available even for older machines. Individual components can be supplied rather than full assemblies, which reduces replacement costs over the machine’s life.
