Feature Summary

The SimpleTurn Series positions itself as the natural first step into CNC turning for workshops currently running manual lathes. Eight models cover swing diameters of 400mm, 500mm, and 600mm, with turning lengths ranging from 350mm chucking-only models up to 1,870mm long-bed variants. All share a common design philosophy: rigid flatbed construction, a reliable direct drive spindle, and intuitive operation.

Bed and Structure
The bed uses a robust double-walled construction at the front and rear, supported by closely placed cross roofings. This provides good rigidity, stability, and vibrationless dampening essential for consistent turning accuracy. XL models share the same double-walled construction but additionally accommodate hardened steel guide strips on the Z axis, providing longer guideway life and making these models suitable for cast iron machining in both wet and dry environments.

Spindle
The standard direct drive spindle assembly consists of double direction angular contact thrust bearings and a tapered bore cylindrical bearing. The spindle runs at infinitely variable speeds, with bearings that are grease lubricated for life. The 40100 uses an A2-5 spindle nose, while all other models use A2-6. Spindle speeds range from 2,000 rpm to 2,500 rpm.
An optional geared headstock is available across the range. The hardened and ground gear-driven spindle is supported by self-compensating, super-precision, oil-lubricated tapered roller bearings in a gearbox. It delivers two useful ranges of continuous and infinitely varying speeds, providing high torque for heavy cuts throughout the full power output range.

Turret
The standard 4-station vertical axis turret is fitted with a three-piece Hirth coupling that indexes electrically with high precision and repeatability. The bi-directional turret indexes in either direction for the shortest indexing time. A 6-station horizontal axis turret (BTP-80) is standard on 6T variants of the range and is available as an option across the series.

Tailstock
The tailstock assembly consists of a hardened quill sliding in a honed cast iron housing. The construction is robust and heavy. The tailstock housing is mounted on a cast iron base that moves on V and flat guideways. Note: the 5035 XL and 6035 XL are chucker-only models and do not include a tailstock.

Control
The SimpleTurn Series is available with Fanuc, Siemens, or Ace Digi control systems, giving operators the flexibility to choose the control environment that suits their existing skill base.

Applications
Well suited to shaft machining, spindle turning, pump shafts, pulleys, and bore well bits. The series is ideal for general engineering, tool and die rooms, batch production, and first-time CNC buyers migrating from manual turning.
