Feature Summary

The V Series is Ace Micromatic’s specialist die mould range. Where a general-purpose VMC handles a broad variety of work, the V Series is engineered from the ground up for the precision, surface finish, and geometry demands of mould and die machining. It suits every tier of the die mould industry — from small toolrooms cutting rubber and plastic dies through to large operations producing automotive body panels and aerospace structural components.

Rigid Structure, Built for Die Mould Demands
The machine bed is made from best-quality cast iron and is stress relieved for better stability over time. The machine bed is optimised using FEA methodology to ensure best structural rigidity and minimal footprint to save shop floor space. This provides the stable cutting platform essential for achieving consistent surface finish and profile accuracy across long production runs.
LM Guideways and Ball Screws
Precision LM guideways and ball screws offer higher rigidity and damping characteristics. This is needed to match cutting capacity to the maximum power output of the motor, as well as to maintain precise workpiece geometry at high feed speeds — critical when profiling complex mould surfaces.
Direct Drive Spindle
Available as an option on all models, the direct drive spindle system couples the motor directly to the spindle rather than using belts. This results in less vibration, less heat, and less noise, while providing better surface finishes, extreme thermal stability, and quiet operation. For precision mould work, this translates directly to reduced polishing time and better component quality off the machine.
Die Mould Specific Features
Every V Series machine is configured with features specifically for die mould work:
  • Z-axis Retraction Function — prevents tool contact with the workpiece during tool change or retraction
  • Program Restart Function — safely restarts interrupted machining from the correct position
  • Drop Prevention — protects the spindle and tooling during power interruption events
  • Air Nozzle for Dry Cutting — clears chips from complex cavity geometries during cutting
Quality Assurance
All machines are laser calibrated and ball bar tested to assure the highest accuracy standards. Beyond geometric inspection, every V Series machine is put through the Die Mould Test — a 20-degree tapered machining test combined with parameter adjustment — to guarantee the best possible surface finish and axis changeover accuracy before dispatch.
