Feature Summary

The KR-VH1000i is built for Australian workshops that demand versatility without compromising rigidity. Its biggest advantage is simple: you get genuine vertical and horizontal milling capability in one footprint. That means more jobs completed on one machine and less time tied up in changeovers.

The machine is anchored by a robust Meehanite cast-iron frame, giving it the mass and damping needed for stable, chatter-free cutting. That foundation supports hardened and ground slideways across all three axes, critical for longevity and predictable accuracy. These are practical engineering decisions that matter on the shop floor, especially when the work shifts between heavy roughing and precise finishing.

Both spindles run 5 HP motors, giving the KR-VH1000i the muscle to remove material efficiently. The vertical head offers a wide speed range (70–3600 rpm) while maintaining smooth control for small-tool operations. The horizontal spindle provides the rigidity required for deep-slotting, slab milling, and other high-load tasks. Together, they cover the broadest possible spectrum of workshop jobs.

Travels are generous for a turret-style mill: 860mm in X and 400mm in Y exceed many alternatives in this size class, giving you more usable table area and fewer compromises with fixturing. The quill diameter is a substantial 105mm, placing it at the upper end of the market for rigidity and drilling performance.

Operator-focused details round out the package. A pendant arm with locking screws positions controls right where you need them. Rapid traverse on the Z-axis reduces downtime during tool changes and setup adjustments. The machine includes power feeds on X and Y, a hardened table surface, rubber way covers, levelling hardware, and a full toolbox.
